Baby seat in a LIMO?

Baby seat in a LIMO?

Ok, let the fun begin. So FH told his mom that we won't be asking his drama-queen sis to be a BM so that's settled. Her daughter is our FG and will be 4 yrs old by the wedding. FH brought up about FG riding in the limo with the BP and FMIL was like 'Oh, well, I don't know about that! There's no car seat!' Blah blah, here begins the drama and the 'special requests' that his sis always creates (one reason why she won't be in the BP).

Anyway, my question is -- does anyone know if the limo companies would provide a carseat? Would they let us put one in? Does a 4 yr old even NEED a carseat?? I don't know, I don't care, and I don't mind doing it because if this is the only drama she causes I will be supremely grateful and will happily oblige!!!

None ofmy BP children are going in the limo with us for this reason. I think under 5 they need to be in a booster seat but I may be wrong. I grappled with this but then thought about how bad I would feel if we got into an accident and one of them got hurt.
Their parents agreed with us on this.

Really? That's interesting.... all the BPs I've been in the children always rode with us no matter how young, but you have a point. It would probably be best if she rode with her mom and dad.

Under NY State law any child under 50lbs is required to be in a car seat. I don't think it would be a problem if you provided your own car seat. If it poses a major issue, I would ask your FSIL to have her and the FG follow the limo in their own car.

The limo company we are using, provides a car seat. Just call your limo company and ask them.

Yeah I think most limo companies give you one or let you fasten yours in there.

you definitely need one under NYS law. we didn't have our FG in the limo for this reason - something else to consider - where in the limo are there seat belts to strap a child seat in? i didn't see the point of putting the FG in the front seat with the driver.

I've never heard of FG or RB being in the limos, to be honest. Any wedding I've been to where there was a FG/RB they went in a regular car with parents or grandparents or relatives. I don't think that the limo co's can have a carseat in the cars because there are no (as far as I remember) seat belts to hold it to the seat.

But call the limo company and see what they say.

My limo company told me that all limo companies are required to provide car seats for any child under five years old. I will be having my 18 mo old nephew and two year old niece in the limo and they will have car seats. I think they will have fun in such a big car where they can actually sit and see everyone else.

our fg's parents just set up hers in the limo....and she was happy as could be....orignally we figured she wouldn't want to go byt herself with the other bms - but she happily 'made friends' and almost threw a fit when her parents told her she wasn't goin in it....so as a last minute thing we added her and the car seat!!!
