I've been invited to a baby shower on DH's birthday. The shower is for a friend, not super close but she came to my wedding. Is it reasonable to say I can't go bc it's DH's birthday? I feel a little bad. Thanks.

Re: Baby Shower Advice
Are you celebrating your DH's birthday by going out of town? I don't think it's rude to decline, but send a gift.

DH hasn't decided what he wants to do...but I know he'll be disappointed if I'm gone for half of the day.

Re: Baby Shower Advice
If she's a friend and showed up to the wedding and gave a gift, I would at least send her a gift.

I wouldn't even give an excuse...just say you can't make it and send a gift.

I would say you had something already planned for his birthday and send a gift.
