Baby Shower Games???

I am throwing a baby shower for my sister tomorrow and was wondering if anyone had any good Ideas for games,
something I can put togetther in a day,
nothing majorally involved,

we are thinking of doing
my water broke - in which you freeze a plastic baby in a dixie cup and whomevers melts all the way first WINS

and maybe the string game dont know what its called where you cut the string to fit the size of the MOMMY TO BE.

I looked at all the sites
and just wanted indeas and info on games you liked or think work good

thanks

I am in a major panic mood to get it all done and perfect.
besides that the weather is going to be stinky and party was supposed to be on my Back deck, will be moving it inside, WHICH i am sad about.

thanks

Re: Baby Shower Games???

Just went to one of those parties last weekend.
They also put a sticker on the bottom of 3 or 4 peoples plates.Whoever got the plate with the sticker on it won a prize.

Re: Baby Shower Games???

I've been to six baby showers this year so I have a few suggestions.

I did the string game at a few. That one is good.

Also did dirty diaper game. Get about 8-10 diapers and the same amount of different chocolate candy bars. You melt the chocolate bars in individual diapers. Number the diapers and then your guests have to guess what each candy bar is. It's so funny to see everyone sniffing the diapers and making faces. Who ever gets the most right, wins.

Memory Game: I got a bunch of baby stuff -- small stuff, like q-tips, bottle, pacifier and so on and put it in a basket. About 14-20 things. Let everyone look at the stuff for about 1 1/2 minutes. Then take it away and give guests about 1 1/2 minutes to write down all fo the things they can remember. Who ever gets the most, wins.

Baby Taboo: everyone gets a necklace -- I bought little pacifier favors from the party store and strung them on ribbon. The taboo word for the shower is 'Baby'. Any time someone says it -- the person who heard you say it gets your necklace. Play during the whole shower -- at the end the person with the most necklaces win.

At one shower I went to they did a game with the grandmothers. They each got a bottle filled with juice or water. They had a drinking contest to see which grandma finished first. It was sweet b/c all the grandma's got a prize -- a grandma brag book.

Re: Baby Shower Games???

I was at a shower where they made up a guess the date the baby will be born. They set it up like a football pool and they winner got a basket of stuff and the money collected went to the baby's college fund.

you could also do the time as well as the date

Re: Baby Shower Games???

Thanks alot girls
great idea
will probably use a few,
I was totally thinking of doing the
guessing game POOL
with Date, Gender, and birth weight
whomever gets closest.

it is a small intimate shower, my sister lives out of state and is coming in for the weekend, so there will be about 16 of us or so.

We are doing a whole Dr Seuss theme
My husband is dressing up as Dr. Seuss and me and my cousin will be Thing 1 and Thing 2
we are going to take pictures with guests and mike will print out and I have some frames and that the favor.

Hope this all works
cant wait to leave work have tons to do, since it will probably be inside cause of weather.

have a great weekend girls

Re: Baby Shower Games???

I think the bingo game is great because it gets everyone into watching her open the gifts. It makes it more fun.

Re: Baby Shower Games???

I am going to do Guess what is in the jar game.
You buy 5-6 jars of baby food, different colors. And take off the labels. Make sure to tap the food names to the bottom of the jars. Then each guest has to guess what the food is. Some people do it with a 'tasting' part too.
