Has anyone gotten their marriage license from here? My fiance said he went it to get the information and said someone there told him we can get the marriage license within 20 minutes. Not that I don't trust him, lol but I've heard from other people's experience you have to mail away for it and wait about a week or so. Does anyone have personal experience with getting their license so quick? Thanks!

That sounds about right. It didn't take us long at all...I don't remember exactly how long, but it was a pretty quick and painless process...

You get your marriage license the day you apply for it.. It's the marriage CERTIFICATE that you have to wait for in the mail..

You can get your marriage license anywhere in NY State.

Do you need the marriage certificate in time for the wedding or is it ok if it comes after the wedding?

You need the license before your wedding. You will not get your certificate until after your wedding. We got it about 2 weeks later.
