Bach party planing nightmare - please take poll

Bach party planing nightmare - please take poll

VERY LONG - but i rather explain then leave it void.

Okay my orginal plan was to do AC. Everything was fine until people said they can't go or they got prego and can't make it.

So it leaves 3 other people besides me going to this with a room at $350, plus beverages and entertainment. I am driving everyone but still think that is pricey to split between three people.

So we said we should get a plan B.

So man of honor said we said we can do the city - one day event of maybe doing some museums in the day so the people who can't drink or don't want to go out drinking can go (that would probably be maybe 3 people) and the rest of the group ( 4 more people) can meet up for a irish pub/bar hop in the evening after we all do dinner.

FH suggests why don't I go to Washington DC. Hotel is $130 and this is the place we got engaged and is really nice. Get the three people who can make it to the AC trip drive them down to DC which is 4-5 hour drive get to the hotel then go to the museums which are FREE in dc tour the city since no one has even been there and I have. Then go to china town in dc where there are amazing bars such as my favorite FADO and this 100 beers on tap bar and this great BBQ and brewery. We are beer snobs so this would work.

My issue is I never can make up my mind on things. Both have such positive things and I am not sure if its that important to have a ton of people with me anymore but my fear is we go to NYC get tired and then dont want to go out drinking because there is no where to rest - in DC we can go back to the hotel and rest. NYC hotels are the same price as going to AC.

SO HELP ME!!!!

I think the DC one sounds the best!
Its cheaper and its very different!
If you enjoy it, go for it.... And it sounds like it has everything that you all enjoy and like...
Whatever you decide to do, Im sure youll have fun.. But I would def do the DC trip...

Go to DC...its a great area and something totally different than AC or the city. Plus the price is right!

I voted for NYC but only if it's important to you to include the others (besides the 3 who can go to DC)....if it were me, I would want to spend time with all of the people who are important to me.....that being said, I think DC would probably be more fun and different!

thanks all! its so hard its like i wanted to do a big thing at first but people drop like flies around me. I have a party and no one shows but yet i go to their events so its like why bother ya know? So that is why dc sounds good because its with the the three people who always show up for my stuff.

lots to think about!

Would you have more people if you went to NYC?

Re: Bach party planing nightmare - please take poll

the theory is yes. This is the thing:
DC
I have one bm, man of honor and a good friend who are deff. going anywhere with me. 3 plus me so 4 total.

NYC
Then i have a gal who just got prego and her friend that wanted to come with her can go maybe to the city (2), man of honor's bro and g/f who i am good friends with would go to the city (2), my friend jessica who i only see once a year might go (1) and maybe MAYBE my sister in law who is a bm might go to the city (1). So that is six with my standard three so that makes 9 total but there are many MAYBES in that mix.

See... I think that it doesnt matter how may people go with you, just as long as the people that do go you can have a GREAT time with....
Sometimes, less is more... You dont have to worry about so many people and stressing ruining your day...
If youd have more fun in DC, does it matter that you wont have alot of people with you?
If it does, then stick with NYC.. Im sure you can have a good time anywhere.. Its the people that are with you that make it a great time!

DC Is AWESOME!!! you should definalty do that... and have a blast!!! I love DC- go to georgetown, right down that main strip there are sooo many bars, and the Tony & Joes right on the river is just sooo gorgeous, its an outside bar with huge screens for music... and PLENTY of beer.

I was just there in September and it was beautiful!!!

Personally I would rather NYC. ALso if it were my friend I feel we would get to do more in NYC without the travel time etc.
