Not having been married before I have no idea what the week or two leading up to the wedding are like. FH may want to do his bachleor party the weekend before the wedding (they would be flying down to NC for 3 days- Fri-Sun). Not sure if this is a good idea or not a big deal. Any thoughts?

Shaun was in a wedding last summer and they went on the Bach Party the weekend before as well... they went to San Diego and stopped in Vegas on the way home...
If the GM's can afford to spend all that money a week before the wedding then its fine...
i am not a fan of big going away bparties so close to the wedding...

After seeing hangover I told FH it has to be at least a month b4. I need time to save up money for bail!!! I think I could honesly have each of his friends cast in a roll in that movie. Also I just heard a story from one of his GM. The GM's father but a friend on a plain to alaska with no money the night b4 his wedding. FH friends all thought that was soo funny and are the time of people to do so!! So as you can see I have to deal with a clown troupe!!

my FH went to a bach party the week before the wedding...the groom fell and split his lip open, they had to have a plastic surgeon stitch it up so he would be ok for pictures (you could still faintly see it)...so with that I would never have the b-party that close, you just never know with these men! lol.

My friends' DH had his a week before and when drunk, they decided it would be fun to wrestle on the party bus. He got a black eye and the bride was pretty upset because even w/ a little makeup, she could still slightly see the purple under his eye in the pics.
However, my DH had his the week before and itw as fine. (I would've preferred it earlier so he could stay home and help me w/ last minute stuff but it was no big deal)

I think it's fine for it to be the weekend before the wedding.
I know that my spa weekend getaway with my mom, aunts, cousins, grandmas and SIL is going to be the weekend before the wedding.

somehow i dont think most of the bachelor parties are on the same level as a spa weekend! LOL

dh didnt go away for a weekend or anything like that but his bach party was a week before our wedding.

I think he should be good to have the weekend before... it's not so much like the Hangover when it was days before! At least you have a few extra days to track him down if he gets lost
