bachelor party

just curious... my 2 future brothers-in-law are planning my fiance's bachelor party & asked me if it would be polite to invite people to the bachelor party that aren't going to be invited to the wedding. (my fiance & i are planning on having a small wedding. we have our list down to family & very close friends.) however my fiance has many friends that unfortunately will not be invited to the wedding. most people have been telling me that guys aren't as sensitive to these things, but i'm afraid it's not proper etiquite..... any thoughts? thanks, beth

My sister ordered the bridesmaids dresses from them when she got married a year and a half ago. They made us wait a long time before we could look at dresses( even with an appointment.) It was a hassle to get a fabric sample from them but, the dresses came in plenty of time before the wedding.

They tried to order a dress that was two sizes too large for me (I know the dresses run small but give me a break I'm not that stupid). I had to insist on them ordering the size I wanted. Luckily I was right, otherwise the alterations necessary would have been like making a new dress. I think they did that to try to get more money by making it a plus size dress.I ended up having my dress altered elsewhere because they wanted to do the first fitting the week of the wedding.

I don't see why not. A bachelor party isn't the same as a bridal shower. I would think that with the exception of VERY close friends, that not being invited to the wedding wouldn't be a problem. It's a completely different atmosphere.

bachelor party

Beth, Speaking as a bride who had her bachelorette party on Saturday and whose fiancee' had his bachelor party on Saturday as well, guys aren'tsensitive to it at all! Anything for a little T&A! Hahaha. ANyway he had 32 men at his party I'd say about15 are invited to the wedding! I had 15 at my party all who are invited to the wedding! I don't understand the logic but that is my understanding of it! Guys aren't as caddy as we girls are! Good luck and make him do the laundry if he messes up anything!!!

As for the hotels I mentioned, I can try and get you their phone numbers. I think I have them at home. The Marriott Fairfiel Inn is the most convenient because it is really just up the road. The rooms are somewhat small, but it seemed nice enough. Holiday Inn wouldn't show me a sample room, because they said after their construction was finished, they were going to renovate all the rooms, and change the furniture, etc., so there was no point.

I would book your hotels as soon as possible. It doesn't cost you anything. You just tell them how many rooms you want to set aside (I think 15 is the limit). They also will give you a discount rate if 10 or more rooms are filled. Every place has their own policy, so you need to check. You sign a contract, and come up with a date that your guests have to book by. Obviously, these hotels overbook, so I'm just hoping my guests don't have a problem.
