Debi told me tonight, that Fred's party will be in April, and might be in Wilkes Barre?? What's exciting in Wilkes Barre?? Mary MOB

Thought I would elaborate on 'what's exciting in Wilkes Barre?' I did not mean there is nothing exciting there; I'm not familiar with Wilkes Barre, and wanted to know what exciting places they have there. My apologies if this was unclear, and offended anyone. Please forgive me. Thanks!!

here is a model of the house, but mine will have a proch on the front, and I don't know how big the plan pic is, but ti is the best I could do at work

Oh no did you just say this??? The typical long island response!!! hahahahaha there are lots to things to do places in different towns...there will be bars and restaurants and if her FH is from down there and I am sure he knows where he wants to go. NY people just think you fall off the universe when you leave here......I'm from PA and it's just a pet peeve of mine. lol No offense to you of course...

no, no, no the reason she said this was because she is also from PA....and we were all just trying to figure out what they were goign to do...wilkes-barre really doesn't have too much...read the rest of the thread....trust me it goes other places.

Whoa, partner, I'm from Lancaster, Pa. I didn't know anything about Wilkes Barre, except I thought it was in the coal region, thus my question. No offense taken!! Fred is from Long Island,originally, but now lives in Lancaster. Debi and family are from Lancaster. His friend, Bob, lives in/close to Wilkes Barre, so I guess that's why he and the guys are taking Fred there. Mary MOB

I read the whole thread. I just find it amazing how people question what others would do in a certain city. If someone said FH is having his bachelor party in Syosset no one would say a thing. but if you said another town outside of LI or NYC it's crazy to think of what a person possibly could do...lol...just a pet peeve of mine. I'm getting married in Bethlehem PA and friends will tell other people they ahve to go to a wedding in timbucktoo...lol just a crazy thought. Drives me crazy!

It has nothing to do with being outside of LI...I would question what there was to do in Syossett too.....

Thank you! I can't wait to start the Perk in the spring!!! (the perk thats already done is too close to the house for my liking and we want to see if it will pass farther away from the house)

Jennifer, I think anywhere a couple chooses to marry is beautiful. It doesn't matter if it's Long Island, Lancaster, or Bethlehem. If you're hearing unkind remarks about your choice, I am truly sorry, because that's not nice. Mary MOB

I don't think people realize when they say it. I totally agree with you. I think no matter where someone chooses to get married it will be wonderful. I just don't think people realize the closed mindedness of their words. I've lived in LI 9 years now and am still amazed at how people who live here believe anything outside of here is a small hick town. lol Even FH's family will make comments....just really gets me annoyed...lol sorry to bring that on here!
