i know my fiance's friends and no matter what i say they would do the opposite!! they have done it before to other couples. i dont like the whole idea of strip clubs for a bachelor party, why do you have to see a women naked to get married? it just doesnt make sense. so we decided to do a joint party!! but his friends keep bugging me about letting him have a bachelor party, what do i do??

Re: bachelor/bachelorette parties HELP!!!!!
You do what you and your FH decide to do.
My FH and I both disagree with going to see strippers for a variety of reasons. Others are free to disagree, but that doesn't change OUR views or OUR actions. Neither one of us would ever go to one, certainly not while we're in a committed relationship. As far as we're concerned, his friends can say whatever they want - we're doing what WE want. (And honestly, if it were just me with the problem with strippers, I know my FH would respect my wishes - he loves and respects me more than he needs to see strippers)
If other people view it differently and want to do that, that's their decision. It's not for us and it's not something we'd change our minds about just b/c one of our friends wants to go. The ones who want to go can go on their own. They're big boys.
ETA - We also know we'll have issues when our friends get married and have bachelor / bachelorette parties and we go to everything but the strip club. We just plan to use the old 'Sorry, I'm married - can't go' excuse, but I'm sure we'll get flack. Oh well.
Bottom line is that it is your decision (you and FH) - What is okay and fine for other people shouldn't determine what you want to do. I think the idea of a joint party is a better idea, JMHO. (It's what we're doing as well) This is something that you and FH need to discuss together... If necessary, FH should just say something to his friends.

Re: bachelor/bachelorette parties HELP!!!!!
Personally, I don't see the big deal of letting him go see a stripper. I had so much fun on my bachelorette party with just the girls. I wouldn't have wanted to give that up to have a combined one. How often do you get to have all of your close girlfriends together for a night of fun?

Personally, I don't like the strip club idea either. FH and his friends, however, went when one of their friends got married and they all pretty much thought it was lame. I think for many, they feel like it's a rite of passage and can't think of anything better to do.
If you and FH have an idea of what you want your parties to be like, then you should both speak up. Since you do have strong opinions about this topic, then say something to FH. I'm sure that he'll understand and you two can sit and talk about it.

Re: bachelor/bachelorette parties HELP!!!!!
Depends does FH want a seperate party, could he be afraid to tell you? and that is why his friends are asking. I would just sit him down and tell him if he wants his own party then let him, but ask him to be honest and you won't judge. Just because their having a stag party doesn't always mean strippers. FH's bach party is paintball, BBQ and bar hopping. He is skeeved by strippers, so I doubt they will going to a club, but if they do I trust FH adn it wouldn't bother me, JMHO
