Anyone else doing this? Danielle's friends had their parties together and they said they had so much fun. So I thought it would be a really good idea for us to do that too.
Has anyone ever had one, or been to one? We need ideas for ours....So if you have them, list em... Thanks, Scott

Re: Bachelor/Bachlorette Party together
Last year, we had my bachelorette party on Fire Island for Labor Day weekend. We rented Margarita Villas in Kismet. We had the best time! Although it was only the girls, we all decided that we should go back every year with the guys and girls because we had so much fun.
i threw a surprise one for my friends last year. we got them to come over my house by telling them that we were hosting a murder mystery party. so they came all dressed up with jello shots to boot then had a few cocktails and went our separate ways. that was about 10. then we met up at a specific bar at 1.
the only hard part was that we made the girl wear a shirt that had a scavenger listing on the back of it so when we met up at the final destination guys kept coming up to her asking questions and wanting to help with the scavenger hunt while the soon to be groom was standing next to her. he was a great sport though and thought it was funny. if i did it again i would bring another shirt for her to change into.

Re: Bachelor/Bachlorette Party together
What kind of things you do you and your friends like to do and how many of you are there?
You could start at someplace fun for dinner like Don Juans, Benihana's, Carmines (in NYC) then move on to a comedy show, dancing, etc.

I wouldn't choose to do it that way. IMO it's not a bachelor/bachlorette party then. It's nothing more than a usual night out with the same usual people who I always go out with.

Re: Bachelor/Bachlorette Party together
There is nothing usual about any of the people that will be going out that night. Most of these people do not hang out together, or have they ever met each other. The thing is, that Danielle's Sister and her husband, her brother and his wife, My sister and her husband, and my brother and his wife all have kids, and god knows how late they will stay out. We had talked about going to Ac but we didnt know if alot of people would go. The rest of the people are all married with no kids or single but in relationships.
We were thinking of starting off at a restaurant and then possibly hitting a comedy club or one of those murder mystery shows....Not sure about after that or other ideas though....
Keep the ideas coming.

Re: Bachelor/Bachlorette Party together
we thought about AC...
we are both not into strip clubs or anything..so like Hositily was saying, it's just another night out..
on this night, you can go ahead and spend a lil bit more money doing stuff, not worrying about driving and just enjoy it

I never said people have to go to strip clubs to make it a bachelor party, just to clarify that, if you took it that way.
Also I said, IMO. If this is what's for you, that's cool. For me it would be the same old thing, that's all.

I agree. I went to a combined bachelor/bachelorette party recently, and even though there were people there I don't usually hang out with or had met before, it just didn't seem to be a special occasion. One idea might be to have the girls and guys do something separately first, then meet up together later. Of course, I hope you have a blast no matter what you decide to do!

Re: Bachelor/Bachlorette Party together
Were doing ours together..
We planned a big weekend up at Lake George for Memorial Day weekend.. about 16 of us are going.
Were not into the whole stripper thing. We both feel it's tacky, and it's more for the ppl who are with you then the bride/groom him/herself..
It's a fairly inexpensive weekend that everyone can afford.. plus I have 2 ppl in my bridal party that are under 21 & it wouldnt be fair to go someplace where there is a risk of them getting turned down at the door...
Plus, there is so many different things to do in Lake George..
FM me if you want more info..

Re: Bachelor/Bachlorette Party together
I wish we could go away for a weekend or something, that would be great. I would be happy just going out to dinner with everyone and maybe a show after it. Im not into partying anymore...I guess its not my thing anymore. I don't like getting drunk, or going to strip joints...not my thing either....I thought it would be a nice time just going out with friends....and I do want to make it special for Danielle....

I personally didn't want a combined bachelor/ette party because the dynamics of the group change.
It had nothing to do with strippers which is totally not my scene. It was about being with my friends, not my DH's friends and their wives & girlfriends, etc.
There's something to be said for going out with your closest girlfriends without fiances, husbands & boyfriends that is sooooo much fun.
(This is JMO, I am sure a good time will be had either way.)

We are doing ours together this weekend! We are going out to dinner in Huntington and then if people want to go out after- Great, if not then that is fine too! WE were going to all go to AC or Mohegan Sun but I think that would be too much for people.
We are totally fine with doing it this way. We also are not in the stripper thing- not that all Bachelor parties have them- most do........
We would rather be together with everyone anyway! It is going to be a blast!!!!

Re: Bachelor/Bachlorette Party together
what we are doing is renting a 20-25 passanger limo to take us to the city. the girls are going to be dropped off at Mantasia at the night club called Show and the gentlemen will be dropped off at there bachlor party(Dont know where they are going????) After we have our respected parties we will be meeting at a night club to dance the night away. And we dont have to worry about driving cause the limo will take us back home.YIPPEE!!!!

I guess it just works well for our group of friends/bridal party. We all very close and have all been out together at one point or another. Most of my bridal party is family (cousins/siblings) and those who are not are all close friends where they are considered family.
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of going out with out my FH.. maybe that's just me. The times that I have (maybe 2x's).. I was miserable. When I go out w/ my single friends, all they want to do is talk to guys or hook up w/ guys, and it not appealing to me anymore.
I had my ladies night outs when I was single.. but now that i'm getting married, I have someone elses feelings to consider besides my own. I honestly rather be with him.

That's great and I am sure you will have a great time.
I just wanted to clarify, most of our friends are married or are in long term relationships so it's not about meeting guys. It's just about friends hanging out. It just happens that a lot of my friends don't know a lot of his friends.
But, I think it's presuming a lot to say that people that go out without their spouse is not taking their feelings into consideration. I don't think there's anything disrespectful about it is just not what you prefer.

See that is like me....All I know is that Danielle wants to get drunk because she has so much stress that she needs to get rid of...and that is fine with me....I would love the idea of going out to eat and then going back to someones house for desserts and drinks....but that will be really hectic to have at my house, because I will be in the process of moving to my new apartment and so will my parents be moving to their new condo....

What about renting a hotel suite with food service?
One of my friends made a party for her husband at a suite in a hotel. She brought in the liquor & some food and had some other things catered. Then all their friends came over and they hung out, had a great view of the city and had a fabulous time!!
