I found this, maybe this will help. I went to DR last summer but didn't stay at a big name resort since I went with FH and his family since there from there. I loved it there.
I did stay at the Breezes Resort in the Bahamas (an all inclusive) and FH and I enjoyed it. I see that DR has them too ones in Peurta Plata and the other in Punta Cana.
If you want I could always ask the FIL's whats good? lol

I went to Puerto Rico for a Bachelorette weekend and we had an awesome time, and it was not that expensive at all. Plus there was tons to do, plenty of clubs, bars and gambling for those who were into it. I would go to a travel agent and see why kind of specials they have going. Usually if a few girls are booking all together you can get a pretty good deal. Good luck!

i would say Boca Chica, cuz its about a half hour ride into the capital city where there is night life any day of the week.....
Just keep in mind it is the city and you should take care with your safety, in other words only take cabs called by your resort, don't wear your valuable jewlery at night, one of the girls should take turns being sober when you go to the city so she can keep an eye out on everyone...
Punta Cana and Puerto Plata are GREAT for resorts..beach...the nightly enetrtainment are mostly the resort clubs which some do get packed....but don't expect clubs like in nyc...
