Re: Bachelorette Parties
I haven't the slightest idea what my girls are planning for me but there was a suggestion floating around about taking a pole dancing class. Apparently there's a studio in the city where you can take private lessons or they cater to parties where they teach seductive dancing including swinging on a pole
Not quite sure how i feel about that yet i guess it depends on how drunk i get

We aren't doing anything too crazy, but we are doing dinner at Melting Pot which everyone is super excited about! Then just out to the bars afterwards

Re: Bachelorette Parties
My friend had asked me for a few ideas, and what we've come up with so far seems to be out east to the wineries, a nice dinner, and possibly a lounge type place after. It will be hard though because half my girls are minors. She said she was going to look into the pink mini cooper limo, so that would be awesome!
We wanted to do the culture club, but it's most likely not reopening so there goes that idea!

Re: Bachelorette Parties
i read reviews before for this chef/dj that comes to your house. he teaches you how to make a few meals. very interactive. but he is also a dj and brings his whole system with lights. i remember going to his website and seeing some video. it looks like it could be a lot of fun. if you are interested, FM me and I'll find the link again.

Re: Bachelorette Parties
I really didn't want a bachelorette party at all. DH didn;t even have a bachelor party. Just too much stress that we really didn't need.
The day before my wedding, my mom (my MOH) gave me a bridesmaids lunch-in. She paid for me and all my 11 girls to get our nails and toes done. Then we went back to my house for a late lunch and drinks. It was fun and it was really relaxing the day before the wedding to hang-out with all my girls.

Re: Bachelorette Parties
I don't know of my BM's are planning one...and if they are, I have no clue what it is. I have always made it very clear that I would prefer a low-key one, such as a relaxing girls' night. I would be happy with hanging out with them, watching wedding-themed movies!

Re: Bachelorette Parties
I went to one last night ( had a little too much vino and suffering big time today). But anyway, we had food at one of the bm's apt in the city and then the moh surprised her and all of us by getting a belly dancer to come in a put on a show for us and then teach us! It was alot of fun! We went out to some bars after, but nothing crazy.

Re: Bachelorette Parties
For my friend we did sort of a scavenger hunt kind of thing. We had to follow clues that took us to different bars around the city. it was a good time! We did this one :
Charlie's Bachelorette Party HELP ME CHARLIE! My fiancé's been kidnapped!! Some evil wench wants to stop your marriage and its up to you and your friends (dressed as Charlie’s Angels) to save the day. Led by City Hunt's own Bosley, you'll hop in and out of your limo, collecting clues that lead to different hotspots throughout Manhattan. Throughout the night, you’ll liaison with classic Charlie's Angels characters in the hopes that you will not be the only one standing at the altar.
They go all out. You get a digital camera to use all night and they even called her fiance to record messages of where he was being held.
The website is cityhunt.org

Re: Bachelorette Parties
went to vegas. This wedding event is the least stressful one lol, you dont do the planning and its all about having fun. I had mine 3 weeks before my wedding and thank god for it bc it was the one time before the wedding i relaxed. Its just you and your friends having a good time. I was so happy about it bc the last 2 weeks were the most stressful so i was glad i had that time away before all the craziness began

Re: Bachelorette Parties
We are doing a simple dinner and then doing a champagne tasting at a lounge known for champagne. It is also cost-effective - the restuarant is not too expensive, everyone can order what they want, and the champagne place is going to work out to about $60 per girl and that includes a kir royal tasting flight and 2 bottles of very high quality champagne PLUS 60 chocolate covered strawberries!
Then we might do dancing afterwards, but I some girls won't come because they won't want to stay out that late.
I planned it myself, and there was no stress at all.

Re: Bachelorette Parties
We are doing a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in the city consisting of dinner then out to a club/lounge afterwards. We are going to have two separate limos though - one for the guys and one for the girls
