How much is a reasonable amount to spend on a bachelorette party.
Here is my current plan...which has been communicated to the bridesmaids by my sister. It was also made clear that I wouldnt take offense if girls didnt do everything (especially the wine tour on Friday)
Renting a condo in Greenport which would be $120 per girl for both nights. Whether they come for 1 or 2...they need to pay $120 b/c there is a two night minimum and it's really a bargain when you look at the hotel prices during the summer.
Friday- wine tour for those interested and then hang out at the condo
Saturday -- relax, beach etc and then out to Claudios for drinking, dancing etc
Essentially, the weekend could be as cheap as $120 for the hotel and then food and drinks...if they dont do the wine tour.
I think this is very reasonable, but feel like some girls dont.
Thoughts???

I think that's extremely reasonable. I had to spend over $500 for my SIL's bachelorette party two years ago for one night in AC at the Borgata...

Re: Bachelorette Party Costs
JMHO - going by just by what you said, I would say it is a little much to ask depending on people's financial situations and what other expenses they have to lay out for the wedding (are they contributing to the shower? do they need hotel rooms for the wedding? hair? makeup shoes? gift for you? etc...)
I know my BM's wouldn't be able to afford a weekend like that. Essentially they are paying more than that $120 minimum because transportation, food, any expenses for a night out or even if they don't go on the wine tour but decide to stay for the extra night they will need $ to keep themselves occupied while you are on the tour.. Do any of them need to take time off of work? because that can be them losing money too.
I personally wouldn't plan for anything that is a 'long weekend' unless all my girls agreed first. I'd rather be with all of them having a blast for a short time than with some of them for a long time knowing people couldn't make it due to $ issues.. I always feel bad when $ is a deciding factor on when my friends can/cannot do something with us.
again this is just my opinion assuming that your BM's are in average situations of my BM's....

i think that's very reasonable!
My girls are paying 50 for dinner, and then anywhere from 50-100 for awesome 80's prom-they have a choice of packages..so it will be anywhere from 100-150 for the night..
For a 100 though, they get dinner, 2 drinks, admission and all tax/tips included..for 150 it goes up to 7 drinks

I think it's very reasonable. I usually expect to spend anywhere from $200-$300 for a bachelorette party.

I understand if they stay for 2 nights it will add to the cost, but they dont have to. They can come for just one night...so then it's just food and drinks and the condo. Transportation wouldnt be more than a cheap cab ride.
The two night option is just for those girls that want to do have a longer weekend.
My thoughts were if we went to the city and got a limo...the limo itself would be $100 per girl and then food and drinks would be much pricier.

Re: Bachelorette Party Costs
It really depends on their financial situation. Then again I had to be a brat and go to Las Vegas. I was not aware the girls planned on paying for the shower as well. If I knew that I would not have picked Vegas. I really thought my mom was going to take care of the shower. Some of my girls (including my MOH) told me they were not able to do Vegas due to the cost. To me that was totally understandable. What kinda ticked me off was that some girls backed out after it was already booked. That was really annoying, but whatever. I guess to me it's not a lot money, but everyone has a different situation.

Re: Bachelorette Party Costs
JMHO but I think it is a little much because you know it will end up being way more than $120. Plus, that one entire weekend!!! If I was a bridesmaid, as much as I love my friends, I would be a bit annoyed.
Thank being said, if you girls approve by all meas go for it!!!!

I think that is very reasonable. That being said, I had to find a hotel in AC that would cost only $40 for BOTH nights because some of my friends were not happy with having to pay for two nights.

Re: Bachelorette Party Costs
Thanks, girls. I should also add that I am almost 33 and have been engaged for more than 2 years. None of these costs have come as a major surprise to anyone and we arent 18 right out of school. But, i guess everyone has their own priorities.
I just really felt a night out in the city with a limo would be just as expensive...so why not do what I really want to do!
