I have a friend who Ive known since I was 14. Her and her girlfriend ALWAYS FIGHT when they go out. The last incident was on my birthday where I spent my whole birthday trying to mediate their situation. I told my friend that her girlfriend is not invited to my bachelorette (after all, if they were a straight couple, I would not invite her husband) Her girlfriend invited herself from the beginning as she always does. I dont want my bachelorette party in South Beach to be full of drama and I know thats what its going to end up being if they both come together. My friend is terrified to tell her girlfriend she cant come even though she knows they most likely will fight the whole time. Im at the point where neither of them will be invited if she wont tell her girlfriend she cant come. I just wish they could think about my feelings. I dont want promises of how they wont fight, and they wont drink, and they promise they wont do this or that cause I know its BS. What should I do? I really want my friend to come but not if its going to ruin the one time in my life that Im going to be able to have a bachelorette party. But on the other hand, she's one of my best friends and I couldnt see this night without her. Sorry its so long.

Re: Bachelorette Party Dilemma
That's a tough situation. Maybe just tell her girlfriend that you would rather her not be there? That way, at least that makes you the bad guy, and not your friend. I know that isn't easy to do either, but, if you explain it the same way you did here, maybe she'll understand?

Re: Bachelorette Party Dilemma
Thats what I was thinking. I might just have to do that. but considering how jealous she is, she wil probably give my friend an ultimatum and Ill cause this big rift between them. So its a huge lose, lose situation. I just wish they could both take my feelings into consideration and put there immature BS out of the way for one time in their lives.

Re: Bachelorette Party Dilemma
if she is one of your best friends she should understand that this is YOUR party and want you to be happy! Her girlfriend should understand too..its not their party..noe i can understand if the girl friend doesnt want her going away and that is somehting they have to talk about...but to not want her going because she cant go would be rude!
hope it works out good luck

Re: Bachelorette Party Dilemma
I would sit them BOTH down and let them know your concerns. Get right to the point and let them know, that it is unacceptable that you spent your birthday trying to get them to stop fighting. Tell them that this is sopposed to be your FUN weekend with your girls and if they have any issues with that you rather them both not go. Let them know how it would HURT you if they were not there, but you dont need more of the same crapppy DRAMA, in South Beach

Re: Bachelorette Party Dilemma
i hate to say this but it might be best if they both don't attend..........just because i have a feeling your friends g/f will probably be mad/jealous if your friend went without her - i bet that they would still be fighting during your BP - just not face to face - your friend will most likely disappear half the night and will be talking to her g/f on the phone fighting, or making up, or saying how much they miss eachother blah blah blah......lol......of course that is just one scenario, but i would hate for that to happen during my BP
but hey maybe they will break up by then? why are they still together if they fight so much?

Re: Bachelorette Party Dilemma
I think you should try and tlak to them. And then if it dosen't work I would just tell her girlfriend that she can't come. And explain to her that it's YOUR weekend and you don't want any drama!!!

Re: Bachelorette Party Dilemma
I would just say what you said in the post, it wouldn't be fair to the others since they are not bringing their boyfriend/husbands. Hopefully if you make it sound impersonal, it will go well.

Re: Bachelorette Party Dilemma
I think your friend should just come alone. No one invites significant others to Bachelorette parties should the same rules apply. You can tell your friend that you just want to be surrounded by close friends all weekend.

Re: Bachelorette Party Dilemma
remember this is your party, you're not obligated to invite people you don't want there. if your friend doesn't like the fact the her gf isn't invited that's her problem. unfortunately someone is going to upset in the end i'm sure, girls usually are. but you have to do what's best for you in the situation. you're absolutely right, you only get this once (god willing) i would refuse to let some little lovers quarrel/brawl ruin my BP!
