Bachelorette party in Mexico or Dominican Republic... where to stay?

Anyone have their b-party in Mexico or DR? Where did you stay? How was it? Any recommendations?

Looking for something nice but not crazy expensive for a party at the end of March 2010.

we just booked san juan!

but i've been to cancun, playa del carmen and punta cana for vacation

i would definitely go for cancun or playa over punta cana

No real suggestions, just remember that March is spring break time, so depending on what you are looking for you may want to stay clear of spring break spots, like cancun, jamaica, etc.

Yeah, unfortunately the bride can only go the last weekend in March!

Is this all-inclusive? I can't really tell from their website? How much is a good price per day for all-inclusive? I've never stayed in one.

Definitely NOT spring break like/teeny bopper. Some place that's not romantic/couples only, but also not too crowded with college kids (sorry, we're in our 30's). Something where a group of 5-7 girls can just hang out by the pool and maybe hit the bars at night.

I would check out Cancun as there are alot of deals.

The Ritz Carlton in Cancun or Le Blanc in Cancun look great. They are also offering some discounts (ie Ritz Carlton throwing in breakfast every day and a $100 credit towards food daily.)

then i would def do playa del carmen or punta cana... maybe melia?

I just recently stayed at NH Riviera Cancun. It was at the tip of the Riviera Maya, so it was in between cancun and playa del carmen, so close to nightlife but relaxing quiet and peacefuld during the day. The food was great, and the price was wonderful. and the beach and rooms were amazing
