Bachlorette Party vent

Original post by MLHtobe424

So my bridesmaids have been making plans for my bachlorette party, we're going to be doing dinner and pole dancing classes. So here's my issue, my brothers girlfriend, they have been dating for about 2 years now, most likely isnt gonna come to my bachlorette party. What kinda bugs me is that my brother is one of my best friends, i love him and he always makes me laugh, and I dont really know his girlfriend, since she has her own place, they are always over there. I have included her in my wedding, she is going to be an usherette. But seriosuly dont you think she should be at my bachlorette party? Does this mean that if she marrys my brother, I shouldn't attend her bachlorette party? 2 wrongs dont make a right?

I don't know i kinda think its wrong, what do you think???

Re: Bachlorette Party vent

I didn't go to my FSIL's bachelorette. She only invited me to the dinner part of it but I felt uncomfortable going. She is 4 years older than me and I don't know her friends very well. I would have felt like the little kid/pity invite. I was in college at the time and moving out that day so I just used that as an excuse though I could have made it if I wanted to. It's not that I don't like her, I really do, but I just felt so uncomfortable going.
This is 4 years later and she is one of the bridesmaids and is planning my bachelorette.
I think that being the sister or brother of one of the two people getting married is different than being the girlfriend or boyfriend of a sibiling of one of the two people getting married.
She probably doesn't mean to offend you. I'm sure she just feels like she doesn't know you like that and doesn't realize how much you want her there. Plus, you made her an usherette not a bridesmaid (which I think is fine since you aren't close... nice even) but she may think the bachelorette is more for the bridesmaids...

Also, I just wanted to add that if you want to become closer with her, perhaps you should invite her out to lunch and things like that where the two of you would really be talking. At the bachelorette party, how much quality time will you actually get to spend with this girl?
