back from a DJ apt UPDATED WITH A QUESTION

we went to see FM tonight and loved the showcase...we meet with Frank and Frankie and they both did an awesome job...we're giving them an answer on Monday but we're 99.9% sure we're booking them

we are trying to decide if we want to do the tv's or not bcuz if we dont do them we will be saving so much money
how many of you are doing them?

Yay! We booked with FM! We loved Frank so much we booked them on the spot at one of there showcases!

I don't know about the tv's they are like 500 extra for one i think, I didn't book or get a quote from a dj yet but just from looking around, it would be a savings though

We’re doing the TVs but only bc we’re using FH’s friend’s DJ company and he gave us a good deal. If we had gone with FM or BodyRock like we were going to we probably wouldn’t have gotten them.

I got a pretty basic DJ/MC package with them. I didn't add any special lighting or TVs. We did get a dinner singer, but that's it. I think the lights they give for free were enough for us!

Question: I've never really seen TV's used at the weddings I've been to. What is the point of them? Like what to they show on them? Photo montages and such?

we are having tv's but my FH works for the company so its not really costing us anything to have them....

we are having them for:

our photo montage

friends and family montage

during various parts of the night when people are sitting - like during dinner - candid photos that were taken during CH will be showed on the screen - i think they call them zap shots

during my dance with my dad there will be a slideshow of photos of me and my dad

our DJ will play a ceremony recap - its video of the ceremony set to music and then our vows replayed

and during all times when there is nothing on the screen it will display our monogram

there might be a few more little things but thats the basics

we can either do a photo montage of us or we can do a zap pic or whatever they're called its when they have some one walk around and take pics of your guests and you and display them on the tvs plus you get to keep the pics the night of...we would have to get 2 tvs because of the set up of floral terrace so the costs of it would be around $700 extra i dont know if its worth it i love the idea but the money not so much

hmm.... yea it would be a nice touch but I'm not sure if I would want to spend the money either. I'd probably rather spend it elsewhere.

I haven't looked into DJ's yet though so I guess I will see!

BTW, we went to a wedding at FLoral Terrace last Sept and we loved it! the cocktail hour was incredible! And the dance floor is really cool :)

We are doing them..we added lighting and 2 plasma tv's, so they gave us a deal.

I just liked the idea of the photo montage, plus pics of the reception throughout the night. But at the same time, my friend who is using the same vendor decided not to...I think it's just a matter of personal preference, and of course, budget.
