OMG is all i can say!! You girls did warn me!! Okay, so i went in for my 7:00 appt at the Massapequa location. I was a little early. I go to the door and its locked, lol, so i go around to the mob side and they told me to go back and theyd have someone unclock it, thank god its not pooring yet. so i go in and i tell the woman (forget her name but frizzy hair, 60's, and round glasses) that im early and she suggested i leave and go get coffee (w a bit of an attitude) i say 'cant i just wait here?' (there was a couch) she says fine. a girl actually came up to me who heard the conver and said 'shes a snooty thing isnt she' lol. okay, so my turn to go try on stuff. she picks out about 4 or 5 dresses herself and bring them into the room, now i am a kind of take charge person who knows what they want, so i say very nicely 'can i be honest with you, i really dont care for these 'and i explain why. so im thinking we are gonna look at more when she says 'well i guess you are done here' im like what!?!?!?!?!?! i said, cant i take a look and pick some out myself to try and she says 'no that is not our policy' how f-in rude!! so i just said, i wish i would have know because i wouldnt have wasted my time (took me about 45mins to get there and im leaving after 10) so i left. i got outside and started getting me po-ed so i walked around into the mob side and asked to speak to the owner. i have to say she was very nice and apoligized. i said, you know, im gonna buy a dress, im gonna spend alot of money, i want to be treated the right way. she told me she wanted me to try their other location in carle place and she gave me someones name over there and took down mine. I just cant believe i wasted all that time and when i didnt like the 5 dresses the lady brought me she told me to leave. what a stupid policy, you can pick the dresses you want to try?!?!?!?!? VENT DONE! lol

I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience there! I went to the BR in Carle Place and had the complete oppostite experience. They were sooo helpful and I was a bit of a pain with all the specific details that I was picky with. They were patient and worked with me til I found THE dress. I worked with Phyllis and Michelle there.

I'm so sorry that happened but I'm not surprised. The carle place store wouldn't even let me make an appt with them once they found out that I wasn't going to spend over $2500. I guess I wasn't good enough. They really are very rude to the brides especially if they don't feel like they are going to get something out of you. Bridal reflections was at the Westbury Manor Showcase last night with one of there Tiara Designers. Well to show you how rude they are - once they found out that I purchased a dress (a cassablanca) they both including the designer turned away and started to speak with someone else. Like I wasn't even there. My FH was soooo pissed.

OMG YES!!! The girl behind the table looked at me like I called her a name or something when I asked if I could pick up one of the tiaras!!!! Then she put it in my hair and damn near pulled out all of it trying to yank if back off instead of letting me take it off myself.

out of curiosity, who was the tiara designer? You can FM if you don't want to say it here.
and to the OP, sorry you had such a bad experience, that was so rude!
I bought my gown from the carle place store and they have been nothing but nice to me.

I went there too and while the lady was very helpful and nice, I hated that I couldn't look through the dresses myself...especially when it was early in my search so I had NO idea of what I wanted. It was just frustrating!

I think its so weird that paces don't let you just choose which dresses to try on. Im using my grandmas dress, so I don't have to really deal with looking for one. but I have to say I have seen friends going through it and it seems more annoying than the fun that it is supposed to be! I would have been very upset if this had happened to me!! I hope the next place you go to is more worth your time!!

I've heard bad things too and knock on wood, I'm working with the carle place people they've been great!!!!
Very helpful, I even went there twice to try bridal dresses before finding my dress somewhere else. They've been great with my bridesmaids. The managaer is really nice. Check them out. I hope you have a better experience there.

ohhh...sorry u had a bad experience! i really think some places are hit or miss and sometimes even the ppl are also. i had a great experience at the BR in carle place but I had a horrible experience at kleinfelds. but seriously u would think they would all have great customer service at all times no matter what! grrrrr.

I went once but they were having a trunk show so all they really showed me was that specific designer. i actually have another appt next weekend.

Sorry you had to go through that!!! I know how you feel. I also had a horrible experience when I was searching for my wedding gown. The only difference is that the woman at the salon I went to personally offended me. When I told her I didn't like the dresses she showed me she assumed I didn't like them because of the price tag and suggested I get dresses and go somewhere else. How f-en rude!!! I didn't tell my mom what happened till we got back in the car. She wanted to go back in and yell at her!! I should have let her!!!
