Back from my LASIK Consult!

If anyone is interested in getting LASIK done, I already can totally recommend TLC Vision in Garden City. The staff is beyond friendly and soooo helpful and informative that I know I'll be in great hands! Im going for my surgery in 3 weeks with Dr Donnenfeld... Im sooo freakin excited I cannot even begin to tell you... Its something I kept putting off for at least 5 years now but as soon as I walked in the door, all my worries vanished... Im going to see again!!! Anyone who is as blind as I am will totally understand this

As for pricing, its normally 2700 per eye for the custom bladeless ... Thank god for my healthcare plan... I saved about $550 (They told me its rare to see any discounts) !!!!

I think i may cry when i finally am able to see without the help of contacts or glasses... it def must be life changing... i just wish (already) that i had done it sooner

Haha you might cry! I know I did when I woke up the next morning!

But you know what... All the struggles of contacts and glasses and not being able to see that you have gone through will make you truly appreciate what it is to have your sight once you get it. People who have always had 20/20 tend to take their vision for granted and that is something you will never do now! I guess in a way that is a bright side of putting off the surgery!

If I had the money and wasn't such a wuss, I'd do it, but also I was told that it's not a permanent fix, and that your eyes will start to deteriorate again from the point they are at once fixed. Did they mention that to you at all, or was FH just trying to convince me it was a waste of money

I was told that this could happen when I went but it is rare...Also I have a lifetime guarantee that they will correct my vision if for some reason it happens.

My dad had the surgery 11 years ago and he can still see the same so it worked out well for him.

The surgery will not prevent you from needing reading glasses down the line though! In fact, it might even quicken the process..I can so deal with reading glasses though!! It is way better than needing them 24/7!

yes, this is what i was told also ali.... its nice to have that lifetime guarantee... they said if it gets worse again by .75 or more, then they will do the surgery again for free... which is nice to have... which is why i didnt care about the price... its also your eyes... money is no object when you're getting the absolute best care ya know? at least thats how i feel.... ill cheap out on vendors LOL bc its 1 freakin day... but eyes... no, thats for the rest of my life

def consider looking into it ali... i got a 12 month 0% financing plan... will prob pay most of it after the wedding

You are making such a smart decision!! I had mine done in March of 2000 by Dr. Donnenfeld. He is the BEST there is. And 9 years later, I'm still perfect vision. The whole process went so quickly. And the next day I was seeing 20/20!! Good luck and feel free to FM me if you have any questions! We're actually going to have FH go to him after our wedding (which is in 3 weeks).
