Back from our Surprise Honeymoon!

Hello 2013 Brides!
Just getting unpacked from our dream honeymoon.
DH did all the planning and wouldn't tell me a thing about it for an entire year!
I didn't find out until we were on our way to JFK that it was starting on a plane. We got to the airport and only when he printed out the boarding passes did I know we were headed to Nice!!
After two wonderful days there, we had the family of one of his colleagues drive us to Monaco where we boarded a gorgeous ship for a 7 day cruise along the Mediterranean! It was a gourmet cruise and I have gained a ton of weight! But it was all worth it. He got us a penthouse stateroom with a veranda and our own butler. Let me tell ya, if you ever have a butler, it's really hard to go back to making your own tea! LOL He even unpacked all our bags for us!
Since I had no idea where we were going, I packed a huge amount, which I hope you can see in the pic below. It was pretty funny. But, since we had a W/D next to us on the ship, I was able to return home to NO LAUNDRY!
We went into a port ever day and they are already blended together in my head. The only thing I would change is that I wish we had more time in each port to explore. Still, it was once in a lifetime awesomeness.
I can't wait to start writing my reviews. We had some great vendors and now I have lots of tips to share. There are so many things you don't think about that become important on the day of. Your vendors really hold the key to making it all work or not. I probably will cross post to the main board since our wonderful year is almost up. Glad to be home!!

BudgetBride, it was on the Crystal cruise line. They only have two ships. We were on the Serenity. The best thing to do is look at a site that reviews cruises like Cruisecritic.com. Then, you have to decide where and when you want to go to narrow it down. I highly recommend giving yourself a couple of days between the wedding and honeymoon. Otherwise, it just feels so rushed.
A cruise is really all about the boat unless it stays in port for a few days. Lots of cruises are in port for a day or less, but I am sure there are some that stay longer.
We were in ports in Italy, France and Spain plus Monaco. I have been in France, Spain and Monaco before, so I don't feel like I haven't seen those countries. But I sure don't feel like I have seen Italy at all.
Cruises are very relaxing. So it's a great honeymoon option if you want to relax and still do some traveling around.
I wish it wasn't so hard to post pics on LIW!
