Back from u/s- but baby didn't cooperate

I guess the baby will take after me
No one tells you but if the baby is not in a 'good' position the 3-D, 4-D u/s cannot give you a good image so it was sorta a bust. The baby was faced the wrong way and had the cord in front of its face The tech said that she wishes the GE site would talk more about how difficult the scan can be if the baby is not in the perfect place and facing forward. I had never thought of that stuff.

The good news and most important news is that the baby is 100% healthy from what they can tell. All of the organs are formed and measuring correctly. All limbs are present. The heart is beating strong.
Oh, and the tech saw the feremal (sp?) bone - which is our largest bone in our bodies- and said from the look of it my baby will be tall! So Scott's genes won over mine in that dept.

I'm glad everything physically is great with the baby! Sorry that the baby didn't cooperate for your 4D ultrasound. The baby just wants to surprise you what he/she looks like!

Re: Back from u/s- but baby didn't cooperate

We didn't find out the sex, which I have to admit was NOT easy for me but I didn't.
Jenny- I think you were reading 'she' from when I was talking about the technical person.

Glad everything went well. See, that was the baby's way of telling you that he/she didn't want you to find out the sex!

Re: Back from u/s- but baby didn't cooperate

oooh that tricky little monkey! I thought maybe 'she' (because I am CONVINCED it's a girl) would 'accidentally ' show herself before the tech had time to tell you two to turn your heads!

The good news of course is that your baby is healthy of course...tricky, stubborn and healthy!!!!

Re: Back from u/s- but baby didn't cooperate

The tech knew if the baby was a boy or girl but there was NO way for us to tell from just looking around. And I told her that I didn't want to know because 2 people that I know (thru friends) were told girls and then a few weeks later told it was a mistake and they were having boys! I did not want that to happen to me so I figure when the baby comes out there should be no mistakes.
Scans will be posted soon.
