Back from u/s- but baby didn't cooperate

I guess the baby will take after me
No one tells you but if the baby is not in a 'good' position the 3-D, 4-D u/s cannot give you a good image so it was sorta a bust. The baby was faced the wrong way and had the cord in front of its face The tech said that she wishes the GE site would talk more about how difficult the scan can be if the baby is not in the perfect place and facing forward. I had never thought of that stuff.

The good news and most important news is that the baby is 100% healthy from what they can tell. All of the organs are formed and measuring correctly. All limbs are present. The heart is beating strong.
Oh, and the tech saw the feremal (sp?) bone - which is our largest bone in our bodies- and said from the look of it my baby will be tall! So Scott's genes won over mine in that dept.

ya know - HOW do those mistakes happen? I have heard stories like Michele has. I understand it might be 'difficult' to see, but by 20 weeks aren't the sex organs kind of obvious?

The doctor came in to check the images and we were talking for a minute and I mentioned the 'mistakes' and she said that typcially if they say Boy they really do see 'boy' but when the say girl, the 'stuff' could be tucked under and that reason for the mistakes often.
And again, if the baby is turned the 'wrong' way it could be harder to see everything.

It must be a sign that you aren't supposed to find out now.

Michele it is so funny that you were back and forth over this decision and the baby made it for you!

Well the tech knows if it is a or , we just don't know. She was able to tell but since we didn't ask her to find out she told us she assumed we didn't want to know. I am sure if she had pressed the issue I would have caved in.

I have decided that I am more than likely going to cave.
