Back to School... Accountants?????

I am headed back to school for my Bachlors in Accounting. Why I love numbers.
If anyone is an accountant, and or CPA that is my next move. Oh yea and being a new wife

Please tell me if I am making a horrible mistake. Pros and Cons appreciated.

My dad has been a CPA for over 30 years and owns his own business, mainly doing accounting for small businesses. I personally LOVED his job growing up because it allowed him the flexibility of working from home and being at all of our activities...while still providing a great salary. He enjoys it because he is a numbers guy, but is getting close to retirement and is getting excited about that too. Certain parts of the year are extremely busy and he puts in long hours, but I think he thinks it's worth it when he can close his office and take a vacation for a month here and there when things slow down.

I have an Accounting Degree and now I'm a Tax Accountant. May sound unusual but I really like numbers and my job.

A big pro of an accounting degree is that you can go into many different areas, whether it's accounting or finance. So many doors will open up for you when you are job hunting.
Yes, there are many accounting jobs that require you to work crazy hours but there are some that don't.
Also once you are experienced - the pay is great.
