I was so excited because yesterday I took my FI to hear the band that I wanted for our wedding. I saw them at a previous showcase and loved them. Last night he was not too impressed with them. The band leader did admit to him that the sound in the place last night was not too good. Does anyone have any good band recommendations?? Thanks so much. Just when I thought one thing would be complete.

I went with Stan Wiest. I love the femal singer in this band and Stan himself is my favorite vendor. I know I have said this before, but he has helped me in so many of the weding planning aspects. For me, he has really gone above and beyond!

Renegade--LIPARAMOUNT. We took them for our May wedding and my parents saw them at a wedding this past weekend. They were very impressed of our choice.

We're using Primetime Live from LI Paramount. We are using 9 of the 10 pieces. They are really great and fun and have a lot of different sounds - from disco to pop to Frank Sinatra and Barry Manilow. . . whatever you want! Check them out!

I used Central Park from Steven Scott. They were fantastic. I got many compliments on the selection, and some requests for their number from future brides. They don't do showcases, they get their business from referrals.

There is a little secret in Connecticut called 'The Funkestra'. We hired them for our wedding. For 9 pieces....playing all night long (no taped music) and a cocktail hour duo, we are paying less than 5000. They are FANTASTIC.
You can look at them on the website, but it really doesn't do them justice at all. They play out a lot, mostly at bars/restaurants around the Stamford area. Really not far from the city or Long Island. Out of the singers you see on the website, the African American girl and guy are the ones that front the band 98% of the time. They are great! The other singers are just as good as well.

Try Full House www.fullhousemusic.com They were incredible, and people commented to us all night long how wonderful they were. They have a listening section on their website so you can hear them. They were also reasonably priced.

I'm using Full House. My FI is really picky when it comes to music and was not happy with most of the other bands we saw (and we saw alot). The female singer is great and they are reasonably priced. They play at bars and clubs around Long Island as well and usually draw a big crowd.

We used the Anthony Mills Band from Steven Scott and they were INCREDIBLE. As Valenia said about Central Park, they don't do showcases, but they are great. Our guests are still raving about the music at our wedding!

i've heard heart & soul at showcases and they were great---- a guy i got my masters w/had day breaks night and loved them--i never heard them play so i can't comment but he raved about them--GLuck
