I just realized that only a small handfull of guests (i have almost 400 invitees) would probably be invited to both parties since we are not first cousins but a lil more distant. . . . now is it ok to have it closer to their date? i'm being really stubborn

nope its still not ok.
the beginning of september is still warm enough to do an outdoor cocktail hour.

I would stay away from your cousin's wedding for at least a month or two. you will be basically inviting all the same people...and do you want your family to have to choose whose wedding to go to?? particularly if people have to come in for out-of-town for the weddings, etc. Also, i would not want to put any pressure on my parents and aunt/uncle... they will get caught in the middle and there will be a lot of stress.

I know you wanted that date but i would change the date at least a month or 2 or 3 months away....

Completely agree - still not ok, sorry.

Also, if you're trying to decide between doing it in May vs. September, I would 100% go with September. Why? If you're having an outdoor cocktail hour, its much more likely that you'll have warmer weather in early September than any time in May. You may get lucky and have an 80 degree day in May like my friend did when she got married, but more often than not, it's still a bit chilly (60's to low 70's) for an outdoor cocktail hour. JMO.

I would do September - it would have been my month choice but we have too many family birthdays and things going on every September so we chose October.

I would do it atleast 1 month apart. I think 2 weddings within 1 week of each other are alot for people. Esppically cause they have to sppend so much. Cause then your showers will be close and the weddings too. It's alot for people.

I agree!

Yeah, I'm afraid that my family will choose one or the other to go to if they were so close. . . .. grrrrr i really wanted that day! lol And I thought this was going to be easy. . . .

Oh MAN! You would have been my date twin!!!

But I agree, I'd wait a month or so...

I defintely would wait a few months. There is so much to do other than the wedding (bridal shower, Rehearsal dinner, bachelor(ette) parties, etc.). I think I would wait at least 2 or 3 months.

If the date is special, why don't you reverse it and do instead of 06/21 - 1/26???
