BAD DAY

BAD DAY

I am sorry to vent...
I thought it was bad enough to get to work 45 minutes late due to traffic (going from Islip to the Bronx)
But then, I get out at 510 PM and see that I got a ticket at 505 PM....

I AM SOOOOO INNOCENT. It says that I was parked too far away from the curb, well maybe if there wasn't so much snow, and maybe if there was parking for all 150 teachers...
ANyway, it was a ticket from a meter Maid.

Do I have a chance to beat it?? I am going to take pics of the spot where I was parked tomorrow and I have some written statements.

Do you think I have a chance??
It's 115 Bucks, I have so many other things that I can buy for that money, like my wedding shoes

Any IDeas???

Thanks Ladies

i think you should definitely try to fight it! you have nothing to lose except a few hours in court.

first, i would check out the ticket itself. lots of times they leave out parts that should have been filled out, which will make you win automatically. also, there's a chance that the meter maid won't be able to show up to the hearing, which will also make you win, i believe.

Re: BAD DAY

That sucks...

My co-workers and I spoke about this today. She told me that they announced it on the news that people would be given tickets if not parked close enough to the curb. The said that it is a fire hazard...so i am not sure if you can beat it since they made announcements on the news warning people not to park in spots where there is a lot of snow...

Re: BAD DAY

I checked the ticket, its all typed up. The metermaid have a little computer, so nothin is missing. The only thing is that they got wrong was the color of the car. My dad is a retired detective, and he said as long as they the Lis. # is there

If the ticket was from a cop, I would be able to have it thrown out, but its from a meter maid

They also don't have to show up. I can either send it in and put not guilty and wait for a day, or I can go right in and plead my case.

I think I am going to go right in. Figured I would get it over with, my luck I would get a court date during my honeymoon

UUUGGG, like being a NY city teacher means anything to these ticket NAZIs. I probably taught some of their kids...
