Bad Experience Today (sorry it's long)
I rarely post so the fact that I am posting about something this late at night just reiterates how annoyed a bridal salon made me today....
To make a long story short, My sister flew in today from Florida for the holidays so I took her to see one of the two wedding gowns that I had narrowed down. I found this dress in a magazine and was able to try it on in the Commack Wedding Center. I am not fond of the place (from reading so many horrible reviews on here) but since they had the sample dress that I loved, I went in with an open mind today. This was my second time trying this dress on at this place -- once with my mom, and today with my sister. I went in -- told them my name and that I wanted to try on the only dress that they wrote down for me last time. This rude woman found the dress and showed me to the dressing room. I put the dress on and had to beg the woman to help me zip it up. She decided not to zip it up and just clip me b/c it was easier for her. Annoying b/c the clipping covered the buttons on the back.... What was more annoying was the fact that I asked her for the veil that I tried on last time and she said she had no record of it and any old veil would do... Her exact words were 'it doesn't matter...' She handed me a hideous looking veil to put on with my dress. It was so vile I had to take it off immediately. I just laughed it off. Anyways, another worker was there also and was tapping her fingers in on the glass counter, acting annoyed that I was there. There was NOBODY ELSE TRYING ON DRESSES!! I must have interupted their coffee breaks or something b/c the woman that was helping me kept asking me if I was ready to take it off? Was she kidding me?? I was there for like two minutes. I kept telling my sister out loud how much I loved the dress and how this dress was the one. You think that would've made the lady be nicer.. Nope.. Then I mentioned something about the gown and how it would match my bridesmaid dresses b/c one of the sashes on the front was the same. The worker said 'It doesn't matter anyway..' She did not say one thing about the gown and offered no help or suggestions whatsoever! To top it all off, I took the dress off and asked the woman about alterations. She said, she had no idea about any prices and that the alterations were from a different department. She kept reiterating that I could bring the dress somewhere else for alterations. Very weird. Most sales people try to 'SELL' their dresses and their services and not try to tell customers to go somewhere else. I would never recommend the service at this store to anyone. I look back at the experience and laugh b/c even though the service was sooo horrible I finally found my dress! (Now I just have to find the place to order it!! LOL) I was so happy and glowing in the dress (even with the mean woman tapping her fingers) that I managed to not have a bridezilla moment.
