Bad experience with bridal salon (lesson for those who haven't ordered gowns yet)~

Hey Ladies! FSIL just called me so upset about what transpired at her first fitting last night. She fell in love with a Paloma Blanca dress and specifically asked if the beading and cording that was at the top of the dress could be added to the bottom. The woman said YES. She then asked how much it would be and she was told about $200. Well, she went last night and was explaining to the seamstress what she wanted added and the seamstress told her it would be another $1,200!! Of course the woman who sold her the dress in denying that she said that so the manager offered to have the seamstress do it for $650 (which is still alot) on top of the alterations fee. So now FSIL is picking up her dress tomorrow and taking it around to various other seamstresses to see if it can be done cheaper.

The moral of the story is get EVERYTHING in writing before you put the deposit on the dress!!
