Bad experience Zeller Tuxedos

We went to pick up the tuxes for this Saturday and my fiance's tux was totally wrong...the pants were way to big, they got the wrong shirt and the jacket was huge on him. Then we later found out they got the wrong shirt for ALL the groomsmen and now we have a total hassel. And the girls 'helping' us in the Westbury store were totally unsympathetic and actually acted like we were a pain in the ass. Be Wary!!!

Re: Bad experience Zeller Tuxedos

It's terrible that these businesses don't take the time to do things the right way, and then after they foul up, they have the nerve to be curt? Somebody would have had to hold me back in the store- because I would be livid, lol...Sorry you had a bad experience...

Re: Bad experience Zeller Tuxedos

Great! Just one more thing to worry about. I sure hope they get everyhting right. What was the outcome. Did you have enough time to replace the tux? I have to agree that the sales people are not very personalble. We are using the Queens Blvd location. I will keep my fingers crossed that everyhting works out OK.

Re: Bad experience Zeller Tuxedos

I hate to say it -- but we had planned to use Zeller too --> but one of the groomsmen who was recently married told us to stay away! He used a Zeller in Queens and the FOG had a hole in his tux -- and there was nothing they could do about it. Because Zeller doesn't have stock on hand - there's nothing they can do if you find out there's a problem at the last minute.

We decided to go to Bonaventure Tuxedo in Garden City -- a smaller family owned & operated tux shop with stock on hand and tailors on staff. It's a bit of an inconvienenace for our groomsmen (they gotta either take a trip in to get measured, or find a nearby tux shop for a 'curtosy measure' and call it in to the shop) -- but none of them seemed to mind at all.

Re: Bad experience Zeller Tuxedos

Zeller is actually a national chain that has tuxes, limos, etc... The plus is that a GM from across the country can walk into a Zeller's --> the bad part is that -- according to what I've heard -- they can get by on their name & don't care about customer service.

Although I've never used them before for tuxes, I'd recommend Bonaventure based on my experience with getting bridesmaids dresses there (they sell bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses & rent tuxes). The shop has a lot of stock on hand and the staff was very friendly.

We're getting the tux, Andrew Fezza vest & tie, cufflinks, shirts & shoes (basically everything except socks & undies) for about $140 if I remember correctly. They even steered us away from the Calvin Klien, which saved us A LOT of money, which I appreciate. (He showed us a CK & the lesser-known brand we ended up with - and the difference between them was indistinguishable.) We had to reserve 9 tuxes --> so we got 2 free rentals.

Their number is 516-741-1080 & they have a website http://www.longislandbridal.com/

Hope it helps!
