Bad Habit. . . Help!

Re: Bad Habit. . . Help!

I used to bite my nails so much until about a month ago. I still pick at them, but no more biting. How did I do it? Well basically I didnt bite my nails for about two weeks using sheer will power. After this two week period, when I felt like I was going to bite, I went and got a manicure. Yes, my nails were initially very short when I went, but they have been growing little by little . When they are painted nicely and I am not tempted to bite. The only downside to this is once the nail polish starts to chip, I peel it off.

For the wedding, I was be getting tip though because my nails will not grow much longer than they are now.

I used to bite my nails for years, actually almost my whole life, it was a nervous habit and it was so engrained that I'd do it without even thinking about it. But to stop I just made it a more conscious thing... like if my hand went by my mouth I'd make myself stop... after a couple of weeks of doing that, I kinda lost the urge to do it anymore. Also at the beginning I'd pick a finger every day and wrap a band aid around it, which helped remind me.

i used to be a huge nail biter since i was little ~ I put on acrylic and just switched over to gel nails... i love them (I try to keep them on the shorter side) makes you think twice before biting them or picking at them!
