I wish i could help you but i work for the govt - not many advertising opportunities here!! but i will definitely keep an ear out for you - my family works for a whole bunch of different places. . .

well i will say many for you - i got fired from my first job ever and i know how it feels . . . although you were laid off which isnt the same. . .

try not to spend TOO much time on here - get searching

UGH! What a bunch of @SSholes!!!!! At least they're honoring your time...it buys you some time. Keep looking on career builder....think of it as a paid vacation....If I hear of anything open I'll let you know. Why don't you try for something administrative at a university. I don't know what your background is but what was ur major...did you want to stay in advertising...maybe I can help...

I'm so sorry to hear that...

You girls are really awesome! I love you all.

At this point, I'm open to anything. Jessica (Belongs2danbuckley), I'm definitely going to look into something admin. Advertising isn't all it's cracked up to be and this job definitely made me see that. But in the mean time, my severance pay and unemployeement will hopefully keep me above water.

FH has been so great. He left work early to come home and be with me. And Cooper (the dog) let me take a nice mid-day nap (which I haven't done on a Monday since like college!) with no interuptions (he must really love me).

I really appreciate all of your support and help.

I'm sure you will find a better job, but in the meantime, take advantage of your time off.

December is sometimes a hard month to find a new job, but get that resume out for when companies will need you January. I don't know anyone in that field, but i will ask aorund to try to help.

I don't know if this helps but a friend of mine had hardly any business experience and she got a job as a temp at Estee Lauder. They said most of their temps get permanent positions. Maybe because you have more experience you can get something there? I just wanted to throw that out there...if nothing else, I work at Fun Zone in Farmingdale on the weekends and I could give you a job there!!
