I had posted a topic awhile ago about a friend of mine who was not attending my eparty because her bfs grandfather died. Well long strory short I was upset with her and she was mad at me for not understanding why she couldnt be there...(It really is a long story) So yesterday after 3 weeks of not talking I decided to email her to work things out. She is also one of my bms. So we ended up srguing back and forth and she dropped out of the bridal party! I was like thats your decision I didnt ask you to leave you do what you feel you have to...But she basically threw away an entire friendship over somthing so silly. I dont know why I am dwelling on it but it really upset me- im not even so much worried about losing a bm but the fact that she didnt care about hurting me or saying nasty things...I guess it made me realize that we were never really friends- or at least she was really my friend for a long time now. Fh agrees with me totally and he was really mad about some of the things she said...all of my other gfs said they think she is jealous of me. I dont know I wish I could just get over this- but I know its going to bother me for a few weeks now.

Re: Bad News
you knwo what.. btwn now and your wedding- u will see who your true friends are. Im sure everyone is happy for you, but i truly believe there will be girls that will show sides you have never seen before.Jealousy is a mofo. Ive lost friends since i started dating FH. imagine when i officially get engaged? it makes me sick to my stomach..
STAY STRONG! Im sure she will come to her senses and apologize. Try calling her after things cool off..email may not always be the best way because when u read things, they sound different than if you were actually speaking to the person (does this make sense?)
why didnt she come to your eparty? did her bfs grandfather die that weekend? im confused.

Christine, i'm sorry about your friend but its better to find out now who your true friends are, then closer to the wedding.

Re: Bad News
Thanks girls...its a really long and complicated story- her bfs grandfather died and she said that she would come for a lil while one day and then said that she wouldnt be able to come at all the next day. Now that would have been fine but she told me the night before that she didnt understand why I am having an engagement party or making such a big deal about it. I didnt see why she would make such a comment because I didnt ask her to do anything at/ with the party except to be a guest. I knew that her her grandmother was sick- and she passed away early Sat morning..as soon as I found out about it I was very upset and called her several times. I went to the funeral- she didnt want me there and treated me like I was a stranger. I didnt speak to her in 3 weeks. I emailed her yesterday- telling her to call me and it turned into a big problem. She dropped out of the wedding and basically dismissed me as her friend...that was fine because if she was willing to do that over one misunderstanding then she was never a friend to begin with. I am happy that I learned now rather then later.

I'm sorry!! Even if there were problems and arguments it always hurts to lose a friend. You're right though: it is better to find out now.
Maybe some time apart wil you do you both good and after awhile you can contact her? I once didn't speak to a good friend of mine for 8 months...we're close again now (we've been friends now for almost 10 years). I think those 8 months apart did wonders for our friendship.

I think your right for being upset. I would feel the same way,. You even went to the wake and she treated you like a stranger. I dont think that was right. I feel that she should of been more apolgetic. If she dropped out, I think your better off knowing now than a few months before the wedding. After getting engaged and hard times, it seems like you find out who your true friends are unfortunately.
