bad news for nys brides using limo's

Well, just heard the news.

Starting july 1st, 2009 limo's are subject to nys tax!

limo buses - NO TAX
long suv's - no tax!

so don't be surprised if your limo company contacts you!

they only heard about this in May, and it is not thier fault!

ALSO, know the law so you are NOT taken advantage of! If you have cars and suv's make sure you are not taxed on both!!!

Hmm when I booked and I mentioned again about the fact that there's no tax the guy was like no and he kind of laughed like not yet. But if you've already signed a contract for an amount can they still add the tax on? Or is it just for those who book now that this is the case?

we recently booked, and all the limo vendors we talked to mentioned that they now need to call brides that booked b4 the effect and notify them...so i think you may get charged. just put some money aside now..

this is only for limos that are 14 passengers or less!!

Ughhh we have 3 10 person limos and a Bentley, we should've booked a bus! ugh

I contacted a friend of mine who owns a limo company and asked about that. (if you have to pay it if you have a contract) and he said that he has to pay it so he will have to collect it. He said that there is nothing he can do, and he certainly can not absorb the cost ....

just another hit to the budget!
