Bad news ladies

FH and I just went for a walk in our new area (Forest Hills, along Austin St) and there is an AMAZING looking bakery RIGHT near us...next to Johnny Rockets which is already FH's downfall but this bakery looks UNREAL!!!! There goes all my hard work!

Don't worry,I know exactly what you're talking about, it LOOKS amazing but I was SOOOOO disappointed with their red velvet cake.

And I'm not even just teling you that so you'll stay away. I warned you.

martha's bakery right? heard great things...and im with Roz. 5 burros is amazing!!

Sergent Garcia's is good Mexican too...Dino and I went on our thrid date there heheh

I adore Martha's Country Bakery.
Their cupcakes are just decadent.

eta: oops just read the responses. everything LOOKS great at marthas but most of it doesn't taste good. steer clear of the cupcakes if you're a magnolia etc, type girl. the fruit pies are good though, i must say!

you HAVE to get gelato at Piu Bella.

martha's is amazing!!! my fiance and i once got the pecan pie with a scoop of hazelnut gelato with it... TO. DIE. FOR.

try to limit your trips there to once a month to avoid a rapidly expanding waistline lol

We go to the pool hall over there a lot. I've seen that bakery a few times and I dart in the other direction. I run from Johnny Rockets and The Loft also.

you need to go to Cabana!!!! best paella! it's a great Spanish restaurant...delish!!!

Danni's pizza is realllllllly good too! it's fh's favorite. we have to get it this week since we are moving out of the area!

really?/ whereabouts are you- we're just getting settled but so far i really like it!

also to everyone YES it was martha's and FH is a HUGE cupcake-a-holic so I guarantee he'll be trying them no matter what anyone says

also, we have yet to try nick's pizza cuz they don;t delvier, we ordered from a & j the other night and it was good!

Martha's isn't that good.

Go to Bonelle bakery. Its next to Nick's Pizza on Ascan. Trust me.

Oh, and Piu Bello or whatever it was...closed. Boo.

i'm on queens blvd and 69th avenue, pretty accessible to everything... nick's pizza is definitely good! we've sat in and ordered takeout and gone and picked it up too, so yum. and we love the cuban place Cabana on 70th road.. they have them in the city also, but we've only been to the one in forest hills.

ita re: marth'as but Piu Bello -NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO say it ain't so! After my HM in Italy it was going to be hard enough to compare American gelato - but now, where will I go!?!?
