bad to reserve 3 hotels for wedding Out of towners???

I suggest to my mom that we reserve rooms at Roslyn Claremont Since my wedding is at the Swan Club. She said Ok but she things we should have Expensive Medium and Cheap. Do u think this is bad... I understand that Roslyn Claremont might be expensive considering most people have to buy plane tix ETC... But Im worried about reserving 3 hotels? Im finishing my STD's now so any opinions would be Appreciated!?

I think it's very considerate! I have a wedding in 2 weeks and the hotel is costing us a bundle! I would have loved to have more options!

I think it's a good idea to give your guests an option...they may not want to spend so much on a hotel and since they are not from the area, they will appreciate that you've done the work (finding them a cheaper hotel) for them.

We reserved at 3 places, partly for money reasons. Also because some places require the bride and groom (or family) put down a deposit if you want to block over a certain number of rooms, and we have a lot of out of town guests!

Def give the options. If you can't reserve the rooms, you can tell people of other hotels in the area.

I think it depends, how expensive is the expensive one, and how far away is the cheap one? Does either one provide a shuttle bus that your guests can use to get to and from the reception? How big a difference is there in the prices? I think it's nice to have everyone in one hotel, but if it's really $$$, it's also nice to give everyone options.

We're doing the same thing (2 hotels). As your guest (and not just since we are doing it too lol), I would appreciate the thought.

I would note, however, if you guys are staying in one in particular where a block is reserved, that you let guests know in case out of town friends want to stay where you guys are regardless of $$...

I think it is good to give guests options. I was looking to do that, but the prices I found were not that different that it would change people's mind. But if you find something close by, go for it!! I was planning on noting where we are spending our wedding night if I blocked more than one for the same reason as above.

we reserved at four b/c we had so many people and wanted them to have options - we did pricey, medium and cheaper too (since on LI there really is no such thing as a cheap hotel!)
