I have seen it done too. Six bagels can be costly if you are having a lot of people as could the cream cheese. You may just want to do 2 or 4 bagels with a small brick of cream cheese and a paper or even orange juice. This is typically done for a Saturday night function and they typically use the early Sunday Edition of the NY Times. Many people read the Sunday times.

As far as presentation goes, I'd keep it simple. Bag the bagels in the same way you'd get them from a shop yourself with a lil twist! Get brown paper bags and you can fold them and seal them with some sort of customized sticker with your names and wedding date on them. Maybe you can say something on the sticker that says something like 'We are glad you enjoyed your night. Here is something to help you enjoy your morning.' Just a suggestion - hope it helps.

IMO...the bagel favor thing isn't such a good idea!
Usually you give your favors to the hall 2-3 days in advance! The bagels wouldn't stay that fresh imo. And you would have to find out if they can keep any cream cheese or orange juice refrigerated!

You better check with your hall!

I have seen this done at Jewish weddings all the time. If your caterer has rolls, they can get bagels too. See if your caterer can provide the bagels for you. You may wish to forgo the perishables as most people have cream cheese and juice at home.

well if the hall was to provide the favors for you that is different!

Is this going to be the favors or just a cart at the hall?

LOL you are right! If you want something badly enough, the caterer will do it if you pay. I bet they could provide SOMEONE to assemble it for you. I have seen bagel/paper favors typically distributed when the guests leave the wedding.

Ugh I dont know I think the whole bagel thing is weird, sorry. I can see water or cookie on way out to thank guest but bagels????? I wouldnt take one if I went to a wedding that had it. If your guest dont eat it right then and there and then are you providing a spoon or knive for the jelly or cream cheese? and by morning if not packaged correctly will be hard. messy and too much of a hassle.

Sounds yummy if you can package them right. Out of town guests would appreciate them since they say NY bagels are the best!
