I'm ready for this holiday to be over. I just got into a car accident last night =( Some jerk ran a red light and hit my car on my way back from Christmas shopping.
Between stress at my job, NO money in my bank account (b/c I spent so much on Christmas gifts) and a hundred other things I still have to pay for with the wedding and everything else, this is the LAST thing I need.
Plus I JUST got my car back- it had some electrical problems and was at the shop for 3 weeks. I had to rent a car which cost me over 300 bucks. I finally got it back, and now once again I have to bring it to the shop and pay for a rental AGAIN b/c I don't have rental insurance.
This blows...

I totally feel your pain. I just spent over $1,000 in car repairs over the last week, which we were not counting on. We put it on a credit card check which has a low interest rate compared to actually using the same credit card. My fiance took care of it since he makes more money, but boy did that dent our wedding budget! I think we will not pay that off totally until after the wedding.
It really is awful how stuff like that always comes up at the worst possible time. I feel terrible for you about the car accident!! Are you o.k. cause that is the most important thing?
Somehow everything will work out. I always pray about stuff like that and God always provides somehow.

I don't think it's necessary- we filled out a police report. There were 3 witnesses that actually stopped and told the cop that they not only saw him go through the light, but he actually went AROUND the car in front of him who stopped.
I had a green arrow, so I went to make a left and he came out from the other side and hit me.
I couldn't believe 3 strangers took the time to come over and stick up for me. The guy knew he was screwed so he admitted to being at fault. It's still a pain in the a$$ though. I probably still have to pay a deductible to get my car fixed (which I definitely DONT have)

You should get the other drivers insurance to cover your rental. If the accident was his fault then they should cover it regardless if you have rental coverage or not.

I'm so sorry at least you are ok! Car accidents suck and at least you know it wasn't your fault. Sadly New York has a no fault policy though. I mean you will still have to pay your deductible which is not fun. Mine I know is $500. I hope they can fix your car fast so you don't have to pay too much in rental car fees!

i know what you mean, FH just got in a car accidnet too and i was like this is the last thing we need around the holidays and right before the wedding! hopefully things will get better im glad your ok though!

I would check with the insurance company of the a$$hole who hit you! I found out after my accident that the guy who hit me should have paid for me to rent a car! I'm sorry about your accident...don't worry the holidays are almost over!
