For those of you that have been to the Bahamas, has anybody been to Paradise Island or Grand Bahama Island? We're looking into staying at either Atlantis on Paradise Island or Our Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Bahamas question...
I agree about Atlantis. I was just in the Bahamas in April and stayed at Sandals. We went to Atlantis one night very late and although I cant tell you what it is like during the day, I was so impressed with the hotel. I will definetely stay there if I ever return to Bahamas.

I've been to Atlantis twice - the resort is huge, so bring your walking shoes if you go. The pools are absolutely gorgeous, there are 3 huge ones, plus water slides and a lazy river. The beach is nice too, and they offer plenty of watersports. There is a casino, and quite a few restaurants- however they are very expensive, so you may want to plan to eat elsewhere. We stayed in the cheapest room category, and it was fine, the room is prett big and we had a balcony.

Re: Bahamas question...
Our Lucaya, we stayed in Breakers Cay-- I actually liked the other two sections of the hotel better. They have a bunch of restaurants on the grounds. they are kind of expensive but the food was really good-we ate at the Steak house and the italian place-there was a buffet place called broadleafs- that we had breakfast at--wish we had dinner there as well.). There is a little market place across the street that has a 'Subway' sandwich shoppe and some pubs and bars so you can walk right across to eat there if you want to save some money. They have a complimentary shuttle to a casino--the casino is not what I am used to-- but it was cool because it wasn't crowded so I learned to play blackjack and didn't feel intimidated. We booked the summer fun package- so we had free greens fees for golf-the courses were nice and no waiting, and a $50 food and beverage credit. The pools are gorgeous and the weather was perfect there--we went in May-not too hot. Across the street from the hotel is the Dolphin Experience where you can swim with the dolphins. which was incredible, also we took a booze cruise. The only problem we had with the hotel is that they gave us two double beds instead of a King Sized--other than that it was really nice....Let me know if there is anything else you want to know.
