Bailout not happening?

Bailout not happening?

What would this mean?

I'm not totally against the idea of some kind of bailout as long as it came with major reforms (like capping CEO pay, at least until the 'loan' is repaid, and other things) but i guess i just assumed it would just go through.

will they just keep revising it until something passes, or would it get thrown out altogether? anyone who is more informed want to step in and explain?

actually something was mentioned about CEO's salary. I think it was mccain who said that as the president you get paid $400k and that a CEO's salary should not exceed that.

One thing they are doing is extending mortgages to lower the monthly payments and help homeowners keep their homes by being able to afford it now.

Theres also a plan the republicans came up with before the bail out since some of them were not happy with the bail out from the beginning. It has to do with holders of mortgages paying the insurance. Also seems like they have a plan for mortgage backed securities.

They go back to the drawing board and keep revising it. It's not dead yet.

i posted a bunch of times on the 09 thread. i'm shocked it didn't pass. i'm really nervous about our future as a nation this will rock global markets, people will not want to do business here anymore, and it's tough to defend yourself in war with a pricetag of 10 billion a month if your country is going bankrupt. the ripple effect of a wall street crash is so complex and terrifying, right down to national security issues.
