Balance w/Photographer????

Just curious to know whether or not there are any brides out there that paid their photographer in full before the wedding.

I thought the 'norm' out there was that 3/4 was due before the wedding, and the remaining 1/4 was paid upon receipt of proofs...

We will pay the remaining balance when we pick up proofs - we owe $500.

We have to pay in full the day of the wedding.

the only reason i'm not worried is that my vendor has been in business over 20 years. he says that in those 20 years, he has been screwed so many times, that he changed his policy to avoid people never coming to pick up their proofs and thus avoiding paying the final payment. i understand where they are coming from!

We paid 2/3 before the wedding and the remaining 1/3 when I picked up my proofs.

I paid the balance to the photographer 2 weeks before the wedding.

We paid most of it and when it was time to pick up the proofs we paid off the remaining balance which was about $450

this is what we will owe for the final product!

same here. i even asked if we could hold the last payment until we get the proofs and they said no.

We paid in full by the day of the wedding (I think it was due that day and I went ahead and paid it early with the exception of a tip.) The only balance was for any additional enlargements, album additions, copies, etc, that weren't included in the package and those changes were made after we saw the proofs.
