Banana Republic...THey can't have accurate sizes!!!

Has anyone noticed that the clothes from banana republic are BIG for the size it says on the lable? I bought 4 skirts yesterday and the only size that fit me was a '0'! I've never been and AM NOT a size ZERO!

Don't get me wrong, I felt good because I recently a nice amount of weight...but any other store...and I wouldn't have been a zero, trust me!

Has anyone else noticed this is Banana Republic?

I thought the same thing last year with the pants I bought.

Re: Banana Republic...THey can't have accurate sizes!!!

I think they do that so that you shop there more.

But if someone is tiny, like a size 0, ar you a
-2 in Bannana Republic sizes?

You are right, their clothes tend to run on the big side. I usually have to get an XS instead of a S.

The tops are fine for me. I wear a small, and buy a small at Banana.

Re: Banana Republic...THey can't have accurate sizes!!!

I've noticed it also. I wear a size down in pants from them!

Also, does anyone else realize that the 'regular' length at the Gap now is extremely LONG. I mean they come below my heels! And the 'short' fit fine. I'm 5'6'!

I've noticed it as well.

As a side note, I absolutely abhor the 'size' ZERO. I find it degrading.

I think a lot has to do with cut too. I find that some stores run straighter in the hips than others, even though the waist is the same.

Teri- I hope that isn't the case..because I am with ya...the last pair of pants I bought there was my normal size. Actually, I must admit - I tried on three pairs of pants that day all in my regular size and two fit (except one was too short) and one was too tight! But I did think about that vanity marketing when I bought my last pair of jeans (DKNY - not BR) - I bought them in the size smaller than I normally wear and it felt good and I bought 2 pairs!

Re: Banana Republic...THey can't have accurate sizes!!!

Denise - good! Now I don't feel so bad

Someone brought up a good point with BR's cut - I buy their pants that run straight through the hip, so maybe that has something to do with it.....

Re: Banana Republic...THey can't have accurate sizes!!!

I've also run into that problem with some things at Old Navy, but never two sizes smaller. I have to buy some more things at Banana Republic - make myself feel skinny!
