we just found out that our band added a saxaphone player. we're going on Sunday to East Wind to see him in action he's 500 bucks to add
what would you do? it's already a 7 piece band that was awesome without him!

IMO it depends on if you already have a horn. You need at least one horn IMO, so if you already have a trumpet, don't add the sax. If you don't have the trumpet, then consider adding the sax

You loved them with out the sax player right? If I were you I wouldn't add him - save the $500 for the honeymoon!!
I probably wouldn't even go see them perform with his bc I'd most likely love it and insist we get it lol

I wouldn't add it. Our band is 7 pieces too but we had the option of going to 8 or 9 pieces. We have a sax player but were contemplating adding the trumpet and decided against it. We can use the money somewhere else!!

Im thinking that the band you fell in love with had no sax player- you said they are awesome the way they were. Why fix what's not broken?! Save the cash and use it somewhere you need it. I'm sure you can find somewhere to use an extra 500$

I am trying to decide too! Is your band Infinity by Franklin Wayne? The only thing is, I think Infinity is only 4 people and adding him would make 5. They called me this week and I'm debating about going to East Wind on Sunday to see how they sound with him. If it makes a big difference, I'll probably add him. I think it would be nice having a strolling sax player during dinner playing some classical music. He is also supposed to be a good singer. Let me know what you do though because I'm curious about other people having the same problem.

We're holding off on a sax player even though FH really wants it, we have it written in our contract that we can always add one later on. He said that all the horns in general freelance with different bands and if he can find one for us last minute that isn't booked it could be less than the usual $500..
We're waiting until it's closer to decide..

I say save the money and put it towards something else you both really want. 7 pieces is a good sized band and maybe as you egt closer it will be cheaper, and you saved yourself $100 and still got what you wanted!
