Any past brides have both a band and DJ at the wedding? We're most likely going that route and having a jazz quartet play at the ceremony, CH and about an hour of the reception, with the DJ taking over for the last 2 hours (or however long people stay and dance!) If you did that, did it flow well? Was pretty much everyone happy and dancing? It seems like this is the best option -- we like the sound of authentic jazz and swing, but want a DJ for the dancy songs we and several of our friends like that most bands don't play (The Clash, etc.)

Re: Band AND DJ?
I have seen this done before, my cousin had it at her wedding. It was actually really nice. She used Soul Revival and the band played the CH and the first 2 hours of the reception and the DJ played the second half. People loved what she did...they thought it was really different, b/c she had the live music energy and then the dj.
The bands website is www.soulrevivalband.com Good luck!!
