Always make sure that the band you see perform at the showcase has their names written on the contract. It is those members who should perform at your wedding.

I also would put in any specific singers and band leaders you want to be there. Also put in how many pieces you want.

With the experience I had, the band members should all be listed, but even listing them does nothing. Half of my band was replacements at my wedding and when all is said and done there is nothing you can do. I too felt secure knowing the names were listing, but if someone or a few different people show for your wedding, nothing you can do but ask for some money refunded

I had the following put into the contract: the number of pieces, the names of the performers, had the contract state continous live music throughout affair, what type of music was to be provided at the cocktail hour (I wanted a duet - sax and keyboard), and the overtime price just in case. But as mentioned above, all this helps make you feel better, but in the end something could still go wrong and you will just get a refund. But I like to see it all is writing anyways!

About two weeks before our wedding I dealt direvtly with the band leader. I sent him a DO and DON'T play list. I also reviewed the flow of the party - meaning the entrance songs, specific songs we were dancing to with our family members and cake cutiing. I also reviewed what type of music we wanted during dinner itself. On our DO NOT play list I included things like participation songs - you know Macarena, Hands Up, etc... we just personally don't like any of that stuff. I also included specifc artists and songs we did not like. I took menal notes at weddings everytime a song came on that made everyone get of te dance floor.

Price, amount of time, price for overtime, payment schedule, the names of EACH band member (VERY IMPORTANT), cancellation policy, that's all I can think of.
