I was wondering if any of you have used a non traditional wedding band for your reception, meaning a band that plays one genre of music, for example, swing, salsa, jazz, etc. What band did you use, and how was the experience?

I'm not using a band for my reception, but I am having a jazz ensamble for my cocktail hour. i booked Stan Wiest. They send you a cd of whatever genre of music that you request.

We are using Soul Revival, we wanted more of a jazz/funk sound instead of pop.

I had my parents and his parents listen to the demo cd they sent. Everyone loved it...so no problems over here.
