Band or a DJ

Which one are you using and why did you choose them?

We are going with a band b/c I love the sound of live music, and also our wedding is more formal, so having a band is more appropriate in our case.

Band! I think live music is just nicer--the only drawback is the price. I decided it was definitely worth the $$!

DJ. FH and I are music fanatics and there are too many songs we want to hear by the actual performer.

I went with a DJ b/c I feel as if they offer more than a band would. I'm using Classie Sounds. They put on an amazing show. I think a band wouldn't be able to do what they are do. JMO LoL

I've always preferred DJ's. At all of the weddings I've been to, DJ's get the crowd dancing more than a band would. JMO

We're having a DJ, much to the chagrin of many of our friends. For us it had nothing to do with the money, it was the atmosphere - neither of us are big fans of bands. We want to hear the real songs by the real performers and we didn't want to be so limited in our music options.

Band. Hubby and I, and our families, are very into music. We also planned the wedding out to be a fairly formal event.

I went with a band since that was the only area my FH and I really cared about other than the food and drink. Every wedding we have been to that was all we cared about as guests.
We choose our band after listening to about 20 DVD's and tapes. They had everything we were looking for including a brass section and they play everything including the Grateful Dead.

We chose a DJ because if we wanted to hear Frank Sinatra, we wanted to hear him sing. Also, there were no breaks in the music. The fact that it was so much cheaper, was just a big plus!

dj..we wanted a mix and we wanted the original singers..you never know what you get sometimes which is what happened at both my brother and sister's weddings..although that was years ago so i'm sure bands are better..we went with In the Mix, mineola..
