My wedding is in August of 2006 and I have most of my vendors except reception music. I am undecided on a band or DJ. what are the majority of you doing?

The one thing that FH requested in this whole process was having a BAND....So we booked a band...It has to be in the budget though...

DJ for us. FH and I feel they are much more fun than a band. Plus, Tommy's Tunes are phenomenal!!

Band if you can afford it. There are some very good ones that don't break the bank. Although I have seen some DJs that are pretty expensive.

some of them do...I know Heart and Soul plays so many uptodate songs-(yes even rap)..and i was pleasantly surprised that they were REALLY good! I guess it all depends on the band themselves...but i know heart and soul members told me and i quote...'if the song is hot than we have to know it'

You would be surprised. Most bands have updated equipment and will learn anything. My band did.

Funny thing is they can...My band, The Projekt plays some hip-hop like usher & stuff...They do some club gigs, so they must....They are performing tomorrow night at Carlyle...They are amazing!

it was quite shocking when we first heard it...Funny thing is the drummer does usher & he is really good at it!

Welcome! We're doing a DJ but we're also having a live singer .....it fit out budget better and not that some bands aren't awesome but with some songs I just like the original better ...Happy planning

me too...funny though, my dad is a latin jazz musician so I could have HIS bank for free...I still want a dj though...maybe i'm nuts, but if I want to hear a U2 song, I want Bono singing it!
