Band or DJ

Which one are you doing and why

Fiance wants DJ and I want a band. At first he was fine with it but after a wedding we went to last week he liked hearing the actual songs

HELP
how do i convince him to go with a band

the best way to get him to change his mind is to go see a band, im going with a dj but i think a band is a great idea and if you actually see one like at a bridal show it definitely could make the decision for him

we're going with a DJ because they're cheaper...I originally wanted a band..but its just really not in our ideal price range

My FH and I chose a DJ b/c we really are not huge fans of live music and like the fact that we dont have to worry about how the band is going to sound, you are almost guaranteed a good performance by the DJ b/c the music is already recorded

DJ. It's much cheaper and I like the sound of the original artist also, but we are having a Frank Sinatra singer come during dinner time instead of the normal dinner music

We liked the idea of having a high-energy band, but are probably gonna go with a DJ, cause the $$ and we're gonna need some ethnic songs played which a band probably couldn't do.

I say band..various reasons, but energy comes from people and a band with several members can excude that energy. Go see a couple of bands with him..tell him he is humoring you.

You can also go with a combo. I did.

We both like DJs because they're more fun to dance to than live music, and more versatile..but we both are big on dancing.

but you know, i think this is one of those extremely personal choices. bc truth be told, I really dislike bands. But some people really dislike Djs and LOVE bands! so it's hard to say.

Maybe go with him to check out a few bands, then djs, and then figure it out

Why don't you go and see both. The different prices and videos of both them maybe you can have a better idea of what to choose.

We're doing a band... my FH basically insisted on it, and after thinking about it, I agree. Basically when you have real human beings there's just a different energy, it's a little bit classier than a dj, and they can play with and adapt songs to fit what you want (for example, for our first dance my FH wants to start out playing 'our' song, which is pretty slow, and then have the band transition in the middle to something fun and upbeat, and get everybody else up there dancing with us. A dj would have a lot more trouble doing that)

I just think a band is more personable. I originally wanted a dj because I wanted the songs as recorded, but in the end it really doesn't matter, because if you get a good band it won't be so different that it really bothers anybody.

I like both. We went with a DJ for money reasons. We did not have the money to budget for a band. I did go to a wedding once where a band and DJ worked together. It was the best of both worlds. Good Luck! Keep us up to date.
