What is everyone's choice of music entertainment????
Seeing the price of live bands, I think I'm leaning towards having a DJ.

Re: Band or DJ?
We're having a DJ for the reception and a steel band for the cocktail hour (hopefully). Not sure what we are going to do for the ceremony yet. I love the idea of a string quartet.

I went to two weddings this year where the DJ was litearlly BLARING the music and you couldnt hear the person sitting next to you. I just dont want that feel.
I'm actually a little nervous about this as well. When we go looking for a DJ i want to make sure the DJ knows that I want my guests to be able to hear one another. I don't want them going home with ringing ears.
Im sure if you say something before hand it wont be a problem

As far as I can see bands range from 6k to over the TOP 15k
Dj's can be as low as 600 and also as high as 5k if you start adding things, like instruments, ch etc

I plan on having a DJ with live instruments... best of both worlds
thats awesome
i wish i could!!! im gonna get a boombox for my ceremony hahaha kidding
I might get a boombox WITH an MC
Seriously, just a DJ at this point. I was thinking of steel pans for the CH
I was at a wedding at the Crescent Beach Club this summer and they had a steel drum band at the cocktail hour. Between being on the beach and hearing the steel drums, you felt you were on an island somewhere. I love them, but they remind me of summer. I'm going to see if we can find a cd of Halloween music to play at my CH.
