Re: band or Dj
I prefer a DJ, I think a band will start to sound the same after a few songs. I'd prefer to hear the songs that I like in the original version that I like, not someone else's interpretation of it.
seems like a lot of people are using bands...i would really love a band if I find a really good one

Of all the weddings I have been to, which sadly is A LOT, I have found that people dance more with bands then with DJs. Not sure why, maybe the loudness factor or just the live music inspires people. But its usually a lot more money. Is it that much better, not sure, my father thinks so, a DJ was not even an option for us. But we found a great band, A Current Affair, out of Long Beach. My father heard them many times and we heard them play. They are 9 pieces and almost everyone sings so they cover the songs so well you would almost think you were listening to the originals.
I second Soul Revival, they were fabulous! HTH
I think it's really what you are looking for. Go see some showcases, that's how we decided on a band. Although I liked the idea of having original music the band was more of what I was looking for. We booked a band called NYC Swing.
